Catch Up Allocation Plan

Y7 Literacy and Numeracy Catch Up Premium

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2). Schools decide how best to deploy the funding.

At Heathfield, we recognise that students may not meet the expected standard for a number of reasons. We do our best to unpick the reasons behind the results so that we can make sensible decisions about what support would best suit individual or groups of Y7 students. Students who join us without meeting the expected standard in reading or maths are a focus group for all teachers. The school librarian encourages this group of students in particular to read for pleasure and purchases new texts in response to their requests.
