Full-time/Part-time Teacher of Art (11-16)

Heathfield Community School is an outstanding school, which is friendly and vibrant with a highly committed staff who want the best for all their students.

A maternity cover for either a part-time or full-time newly qualified or more experienced Teacher of Art for November 2019 has arisen and we warmly welcome applications from both NQTs and experienced teachers alike. We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teacher of Art who will teach across the full age range of abilities and ages. Someone who is passionate about Art, inspiring and motivational, who can enthuse and engage students to achieve their full potential and are dedicated to enabling students to make excellent progress. A committed individual who wishes to add to the success of the Art team by embracing the very best practice in teaching.

At Heathfield Community School, we are very proud of our Art and Design department and this is an exciting opportunity to part of a school which truly values the importance of creative subjects in the development of young people.

Heathfield Community School is an oversubscribed, mixed 11-19 community comprehensive school situated in Taunton, Somerset. We have a reputation for providing an exciting and broad curriculum offer for our pupils, within a happy and safe environment. As an Arts School we have an absolute commitment to the Arts, and we will always continue to ensure that Art and Design play a central role in our curriculum offer.

It is a fantastic time to be joining the Art and Design team. You would join a hardworking and passionate team of staff, in a modern purpose-built Art block, in a school characterised by high aspirations and academic success, alongside a strong climate of care, encouragement and reward.

We want our pupils to leave school as well-rounded, confident young people, with an awareness of the wider world, and a desire and ambition to play an active part in it.
